MARS HORODYSKI is an award-winning director with over a decade of directing experience. Her first feature film BEN’S AT HOME (which she directed, co-wrote and produced) has played over a dozen festivals and won several awards the Canadian Comedy Award for Best Directing in a Feature Film. Mars’ series credits include the BBC/DHX series THE NEXT STEP, the Emmy Award winning PBS series ODD SQUAD.

ROMEO CANDIDO is an award-winning content creator with experience in narrative and factual storytelling for film, television, and digital platforms. Romeo believes that the time for diverse stories is finally here and hopes to bring his unique insight and vision to the masses. Romeo has also been actively working on cultivating the next generation of storytellers as a mentor for the Kapisanan Centre for Filipino Arts and Culture as well as being a facilitator and member of the CBC Diversity and Inclusion team.

DANIELA SAIONI is a screenwriter and stand-up comic with a simple mission: change the world, one laugh at a time. She is one half of the comedy screenwriting duo Nobody’s Daughters with Annie Bradley. Their feature script THE WBI won Best Reserve Screenplay at the Female Eye Film Festival and is on the 2016 Top 10 “It List” in CFF’s Harold Greenberg Fund competition.


Creative Team

MOLLY FLOOD’s directing experience includes writing and directing three short films on 35mm while completing production 101 at Ryerson University Chang School, including “Shy Vampire” . She has worked on over 20 professional theatre shows that range from Shakespeare to new work, and has been working professionally in Theatre, film and music for over 10 years.

 is an established actress, photographer, and emerging filmmaker. She has directed, shot and edited Suckerpunch and Blades of Grass music videos for Canadian indie singer/songwriter Cat and The Queen, and is in pre-production for the new music video for Goodnight, Sunrise’s latest single Familiar Faces. Samantha’s 16mm black and white film ‘lora’ was part of this year’s inaugural TiffXInstagram Shorts Festival, she recently assisted Kat Webber on the psychological thriller Satisfaction.

 is a filmmaker with a background in photography. Her first short, HIGHWAY, aired on CBC Television in 2007, and her third short BODYMAX won Best Picture at the Toronto Film Challenge in 2012. In 2014 she was selected as one of four directors from across Canada to participate in the NSI Drama Prize Program with her original comedic short film, DIVORCE PHOTOGRAPHER (Special Jury Prize, Canadian Film Fest 2016; Calgary Film Fest, Whistler Film Fest, San Jose Film Fest). In 2015 she was a finalist for the Cayle Chernin Awards in Media Arts. She is also a graduate of the Women in
the Director’s Chair workshop (2013).

 In demand for her editing and directing skills, Kat’s first short film Satisfaction, is screening internationally. She’s currently Mary Walsh’s Christmas Special directed by Warren P. Sonoda.

is a fashion designer with training in multiple artistic disciplines. Her work is often inspired by music, dance and her cultural background. Always expanding her repertoire, this is her first time working as Art Director for a film.



EMILY ANDREWS is co-founder of FILMCOOP, and has produced the features POND LIFE, THE RIVER YOU STEP IN and THE COCKSURE LADS, and the shorts STIR, BOB, COME FROM AWAY among many others.

JEN POGUE is an emerging film/tv/web/theatre producer, whose credits include TIME OUT, GOOD HANDS and MISS ODETTE’S MODERN HANDBOOK TO MANNERS. She is a producer and project manager for award-winning comedy troupe THE NATIONAL THEATRE OF THE WORLD, and has served as the Industry Series Producer for the Canadian Film Fest (CFF) since 2015.

YAZMIN ALI is winner in the CINEFAM-ACTRA Toronto Women Of Colour Creators Short Film Challenge (in association with Trinity Square Video), which culminated in the screening of her short film DO YOU REMEMBER ME at The Caribbean Tales Film Festival.

LAURA NORDIN recently produced the feature film POND LIFE written and directed by Gord Rand. Other select Producer credits include: PIANO LESSONS (short) based on the short story In Sight of the Lake by Alice Munro, CLEO (short, TIFF 2016), STIR (short, CIFF 2017), and BURNING, BURNING (feature, Raindance 2015).



CAROLINE MANGOSING, multi-disciplinary artist and entrepreneur, she is one of the co-founders and was the Executive Director for KAPISANAN Philippine Centre for Arts and Culture and runs VINTA Gallery, an ethical clothing design company. Caroline had a principal recurring role on YTV’s HOW TO BE INDIE, for three seasons, and most recently a recurring role on SECOND JEN, a new comedy series on CityTV.

Selected film & television credits include THE KENNEDY’S AFTER CAMELOT, SLASHER (NBC), GOOD WITCH, LOST GIRL, DEFIANCE and guest starring in the upcoming series RAISING EXPECTATIONS. She also performed in Alejandro González Iñárritu’s Oscar-winning BIRDMAN, as well as CASINO JACK and Cronenberg’s COSMOPOLIS. Her first short film, BABY BRAIN, which she wrote, produced and starred in, premiered at both the Toronto and New York International Short Film Festivals and was directed by Mars Horodyski.
