Some stuff about me…

I grew up in a small town outside Ottawa, with no TV. We had to go the the neighbours’ to watch the show I was on in high school.

I knew I wanted to be an actor since the age of seven when I saw a play at the National Arts Centre.

I was a consummate Drama Nerd and started studying at the Ottawa School of Speech and Drama at the age of 9.

I went to an arts high school for Drama - the renowned Arts Canterbury High School, in Ottawa, Canada.

I got lucky with a scholarship to study Classical Acting at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts, UK.

I was also chosen as one of the inaugural participants in the Banff Centre/Citadel Theatre Professional Training Program.

I used to competitive ski race - but I have a fear of speed.

I’m happiest on a wilderness adventure, with my rescue dog Esther Williams.

I love yoga and meditation and teach a group of Francophone seniors. So yes, I speak French. And I adore old people.

I’m obsessed with old houses, design and gardening. I co-founded The Ferg in Prince Edward County and designed a Brooklyn Brownstone renovation and various condos in Toronto.

Some of my work…

I’ve performed small roles in some crazy big movies - the Oscar-winning Birdman, by Alejandro González Iñárritu, and Cosmopolis by David Cronenberg, to name a few.

I’ve performed big roles in some lovely indie films - like Savasana, Blindspot, and Little Spoon.

A career highlight was working opposite my comedy hero, Tracey Ullman, in the limited series Mrs. America on FX/Hulu, starring Cate Blanchett. I play Betty Friedan (Ullman)’s ex’s new wife.

I also produce and write - my short Orchid is now screening as part of the National Screen Institute’s Online Short Film Festival. Check it out!

The Canada Council for the Arts funded my research and development project in Deaf and hearing theatre practices at Tyst Teater, part of The National Theatre Of Sweden. It culminated in To A Flame, directed by Josette Bushell-Mingo with Tyst and Nightwood Theatre.

I play the venerable Verna Jones - causing a bit of a flap on the long-running much-adored TV series Murdoch Mysteries.

I got to yell at Matthew Perry - he’s come a long way since Chandler - in the mini-series The Kennedys After Camelot.

Theatre is my first love and I recently played Titania in A Midsummer Night’s Dream with Festival Players of Prince Edward County.

I produced and starred in the critically-acclaimed smash-hit World Premiere production of John Patrick Shanley’s A Woman Is A Secret. www.ripjawproductions.com

I love collaborating - writing, producing, acting, directing. Hit me up to make things happen.
